April 27, 2007 - San Joaquin County EMS Agency Field Care Audit


San Joaquin County EMS Agency will be hosting a 2007 Field Care Audit on Monday, May 21, 2007. The subject of this Field Care Audit is Advanced Airway. It is being coordinated and taught by REACH Air Ambulance. You MUST work for a San Joaquin County EMS Provider to be eligible to participate. The Field Care Audit is instructor led and is intended to serve as an educational opportunity. It has been approved by the San Joaquin County EMS Agency for up to 4 continuing education hours at no cost to participants. All San Joaquin County First Responders, EMTs, Paramedics, and MICNs are encouraged to attend (EMS Provider #39-0001, BRN #1524). Space is limited, please see flyer for additional information. April 5, 2007 - New Draft Policies Available For Public Review


New draft policies (Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Advanced Life Support) are posted for public review on the Draft Policies web page. April 3, 2007 - Welcome Phil Cook


Dan Burch, EMS Administrator is pleased to announce that Phil Cook has joined the EMS Agency staff as the new County Disaster Medical Health Specialist. Mr. Cook has substantial experience in disaster operations and hazardous materials management having served previously with the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services, and most recently as the Disaster and Safety Coordinator for Kaiser Permanente in San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. March 19, 2007 - Reminder of Additional Training Requirements for MICN’s


The count down is on. MICN’s have less than a year to obtain and submit the course completion certificate for NIMS 700 or HICS/HEICS IV equivalent as required by SJCEMSA Policy No. 2610, “Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Authorization,” to maintain your MICN authorization. February 23, 2007 - OSHA is Updating its Emergency Response Regulations

February 15, 2007 - Stockton MMRS Mark 1 Kit Re-supply


The Stockton Fire Department is requesting the return of Stockton MMRS Mark 1 Kits (nerve agent antidotes) with expired medications. Organizations participating in the Stockton MMRS Mark 1 Kits (nerve agent antidotes) may contact Captain Robert Tuitavuki to arrange for the Stockton Fire Department to pick up the expired kits. It is the City of Stockton's intent to re-supply the Stockton MMRS Mark 1 Kits to organizations that still desire to participate in the program. February 8, 2007 - Holiday Office Closure


The San Joaquin County EMS Agency office will be closed Monday, February 19, 2007 and will re-open with normal office hours Tuesday, February 20, 2007.

January 26, 2007 - New Policies Effective February 1, 2007


New policies that will be effective February 1, 2007 have been added to the policies web page. These include policy numbers 2700, 5105, the 5700 series, and 5904. Please see the memo from the Medical Director for additional information.

January 14, 2007 - EMT-I Certification/Re-Certification Fee Increase


Effective February 1, 2007 the EMT-I Certification/Re-certification fee will be $30.00 (thirty dollars) as previously approved by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors.
