RIDE - Regional Immunization Data Exchange

A regional immunization information system covering Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne county health care providers. RIDE is a secure immunization registry system protecting the health of the community against vaccine preventable diseases.

Immunization records for children are frequently incomplete or unavailable. RIDE provides rapid retrieval via Web-based access to records. Using the registry eases the burdens of office staff by supporting reminder/recall notices for parents, replacing lost California Immunization Records (yellow cards) by printing a new copy with up-to-date information, and streamlining charting. For information or a demonstration, contact the Immunization Program at (209) 468-2292.

Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program

The VFC program, operated by the State Department of Health Services, furnishes federally purchased pediatric vaccines to health care providers at no cost to serve children birth-18 years whose parents cannot pay out of pocket for vaccines. Vaccines are used for children covered by Medi-Cal or CHDP, children without health insurance or whose insurance does not cover vaccine, and American Indian or Alaskan native children. For more information, contact the State toll free at (877) 2GET-VFC or (877) 243-8832.
